Abstract
1,188,638. Loading containers into dumbwaiters. GUILBERT Inc. 14 Jan., 1969, No. 2126/69. Heading B8L. Containers 105, Fig. 1, are moved into or out of a dumbwaiter 11 from rails 103 by a carriage which is projected beneath the cantainer to engage it and draw it into the dumbwaiter. The carriage, Fig. 2, has a lower portion 35 which runs out of the car 11 across a drawbridge 21, Fig. 1, and an upper portion 70 which moves out further than the lower portion on rails 102 until it is beneath the container 105. In this position, pushers 78, Figs. 1 and 6, are raised by racks and pinions, so that when the carriage is drawn back into the oar the container is engaged by one of the pushers 78 and moves with the carriage. The carriage portions are moved by sprockets, chains, and racks and pinions.
