Abstract
1,188,222. Shelving. FRITZ SCHAFER K.G. 22 July, 1968 [25 July, 1967], No. 34798/68. Heading A4B. A shelving system comprises shelf units 1a-1o each comprising a frame with uprights 3 having pressed out lugs 5 to support shelves, the units being stacked and arranged in rows to define passages 7, 8 between them, and gratings 9 forming elevated floors in the passages and supported by metal brackets 10, 110 attached to the upper ends of the uprights 3. Each bracket 10 has perpendicular flanges 11, 12 which contact adjoining sides of the upright 3. One flange 11 has a ledge 14 to which the grating 9 is bolted, a bent portion 17 to engage between the limbs 19 of a horizontal frame member 20 of the shelf unit, and a bottom projection 13 to engage a cavity 21 in a lug 5 or in a lug 22 pressed out of a section. 24 fitted into a modified upright 3<SP>1</SP> A flange 32 is optionally provided for securing to a sheathing panel. Brackets 110, fitted at the corners of the shelf units to project into two mutually perpendicular passages, comprise auxiliary brackets 25 with lugs (31a, 31b, Fig. 3) fitted into slots 16a, 16b in a main bracket 10. Ledges 6 on the top of each shelf unit establish correct location of a superposed unit.
