Abstract
1,185,905. Hydraulic motor control circuits. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. Aug.18, 1967 [Sept.30, 1966], No.38138/67. Heading F1P. [Also in Division E1] A variable speed hydraulic motor 18 for driving the elevator of a self-loading scraper vehicle is supplied by a first pump 41 which delivers to the inlet 43 of a by-pass valve 14 which in the neutral position shown connects pump delivery to a reservoir 22, whereas the valve 14 when position S blocks said inlet 43 and allows pump pressure to drive motor 18, and the steering motor (not shown) of the vehicle is controlled by a valve 19 which is continuously connected through a line 53 with a second pump 53 and is also connected through a two-position spool valve 58 and a line 57 with a third pump 54 when said valve 58 is in the position shown; the valve 58 when its spool 62 is moved leftwards to its other position serving the divert delivery of pump 54 past a non-return valve 71, an outlet and a line 74 leading to the delivery side of pump 41 thereby allowing the speed of the motor to be increased. In a modification the motor (18, Fig. 2, not shown) may be driven at four speeds by being subjected to the delivery of pump (41<SP>1</SP>) only, pump (41<SP>1</SP>) plus a pump (84) which is connected also to by-pass valve (14<SP>1</SP>), pump (41<SP>1</SP>) plus pump (54<SP>1</SP>) when the diverter valve (58<SP>1</SP>) is in its displaced position and by pump (41<SP>1</SP>) plus (54<SP>1</SP>) plus (84). In the above embodiments the spool of the diverter valve 58 (58<SP>1</SP>) is actuated by a foot pedal 66, (66<SP>1</SP>) but in a further modification the valve spool is displaced automatically by a pilot piston (96, Fig.3, not shown) driven by pressure from pump (84<SP>11</SP>). In all three embodiments double acting bowl jacks 16 and a double acting ejector jack 17 are supplied by a pump 21 which delivers through a line 23 to two-position control valves 12, 13 as described in U.S.A. Specification 3, 258, 926.
