A back-rest (2) (Fig. 1, not shown) of a vehicle seat is pivotally adjustable by means of an element 11 e.g. a pin carried by part 9 of the back-rest and two members 16 and 30 which are carried by the seat frame and which define a track in which the element 11 may be received, one of the members 30 being movable away from a position in which element 11 is held in the track to permit rotation of the other member 16 by means of a lever 27 with consequential adjustment of the back-rest. Members 16 and 30 preferably define a spiral track, member 16 being fixed to tube 8 and member 30 being spring-biased towards its holding position and movable axially to the rod 20 by outward movement of the lever 27 pivotally connected to rod 20.
