1,184,010. Stacking bottles in cases. A. GUERZONI and R. GUERZONI [trading as F. LLI GUERZONI SOC. DI FATTO DI ALESSANDRO E RENATO GUERZONI). 2 May, 1968-[2 May, 1967], No. 20850/68 Heading B8C. Apparatus for inserting, bottles in a packing case comprises two parallel conveyers 3, 4, driven, in opposite directions, an endless conveyer 7 carrying a plurality of gripping heads 12 for lifting bottles from the conveyer 3 and placing them in packing cases on the conveyer 4, a first member 13 reciprocating alongside the conveyer 3 and having pivoted arms 117, 118 movable across the conveyer for positioning the bottles prior to lifting, and a second member 14 reciprocating alongside the conveyer 4 and having pivoted arms 19, 20 movable across the conveyer for positioning the packing cases before the bottles are inserted. The arms 117, 118 and 19, 20 may move in synchronization or one after the other to position the bottles and packing cases, respectively. The arms 19, 20 carry upwardly extending plates 24 co-operating with a plate 21 on the member 14 and a fixed plate 22 to form a guide for the bottles. The reciprocating members and arms may. be driven mechanically from the endless conveyer 7 or hydraulically or pneumatically.
