Abstract
1,182,172. Electrophotographic materials. RANK ZEROX Ltd. 8 March, 1967 [15 March. 1966], No. 10891/67. Heading H1K. The photo-conductive layer of an electrophotographic material contains a polysulphone resin and a Lewis acid; photoconductivity arises from the formation of a charge transfer complex between these components. Sensitizing- dyes and other additives may be included in the layer. The repeating units of the polysulphones are wherein the phenylene groups may be further substituted and wherein X and Y are each selected from hydrogen, alkyl, and aryl radicals, or X and Y and their linking carbon together form an aliphatic ring, the total number of carbons in X+Y being no more than 12.
