Abstract

1,181,311. Vehicle exterior rear-view mirrors. Y. TALBOT. 13 July, 1967, No. 32251/67. Heading B7J. A vehicle rear-view exterior mirror comprises a base 1 supporting a frusto-conical or conical housing 2, and a mirror head 3 having a partspherical portion 4 which is adjustably connected to the housing and a further portion 5 having a non-circular rim for receiving a non- circular mirror glass. When portion 4 is central in housing 2 the rim of portion 5 forms an angle α with a transverse mirror axis and the head is capable of further angular adjustment #. In the mirror of Fig. 4 the rim of the housing 2 is at an angle y with a transverse mirror axis. Also diametrically opposite holes in housing 2 allow it to be fixed on base 1 in two orientations, the holes not in use being covered by a plate 8.
