118,116. Soc. Anon. des Produits Refractaires de l'Ouest. Aug. 6, 1917, [Convention date]. Refractory substances containing silica.-Silica bricks are made from any quartz or quartzite containing an average of 95 per cent silica. After disintegrating or after cooling, the material is subjected to a first crushing, and part then reduced to a fine flour by a further crushing.. Suitable proportions of the two crushings are mixed together with a binder such as lime, moulded, and burnt.
