Abstract
1,181,054. Spring upholstery. J. GARRISON. 24 Sept., 1968, No. 45334/68. Heading A4M. A spring unit includes a border wire 11 supported by elements 12, formed by spring metal strip, engaged with sinuous springs 6 extending between opposite sides of a frame 5, each element 12 having at its opposite ends open loops 13, 14 with restricted mouths (17) so that the loops 13, 14 respectively have a snap engagement with a cross bar 9 of a spring 6 and the border wire 11. An intermediate loop 15 in the element 12 engages on end 25 of the border wire 11 or an inner wire (24, Fig. 3). A cranked arm 19 of the element 12 bears on a crossbar 9 adjacent that engaged by the loop 13. The intermediate loop 15 may be secured by a hog ring (26, Fig. 3) to a crossbar 9 of the spring 6. An edge roll (28) may be secured by hog rings (29, 30) to the border wire 11 and element 12.
