Abstract
1,180,946. Oscillating motors. ABEX CORP. 31 Jan., 1967 [1 March, 1966], No. 44296/69. Heading H2A. A torque motor for actuating the servo-mechanism 3 forming the subject of the parent Specification comprises an armature 35 having a pair of opposed flat wings 33, 34 and a central tubular portion 50 attached to one end of a torsion tube 54, the other end of which is secured to a fixed base 4. The armature and control coils 31, 32 surrounding the wings are assembled between U-shaped polepieces 11, 12 maintained a predetermined distance apart by spacers 19, 20, said assembly being clamped between a polarizing permanent magnet 8 and the bar 4 by screws 38. Also attached to the portion 50 of the armature is a central driving rod 65 which is rotated to actuate the servomechanism when a signal is applied to the coils 31, 32 to produce rotation of the armature from its central position against the restoring force of the torsion tube 54.
