Abstract
1,179,991. Garment package support. FRATELLI RODA S.A. 20 March, 1968 [24 March, 1967], No. 13402/68. Heading B8C. Garments, e.g. shirts, are folded about a cardboard blank 1 (Fig. 4) having a crease line AB across the middle of the blank to allow strip 1<SP>11</SP> to be folded up behind strip 1<SP>1</SP> and a flap 2 and optional flaps 3, 4. The blank is placed on the garment, the flap 2 (Fig. 6) is inserted into the garment collar and the sides of the garment are folded to overlap on the back of the blank. The end 19 is folded over, and the blank and garment doubled along the crease line. The folded end is tucked underneath a card 5 carrying the three flaps, in the embodiment shown, and side flaps 3, 4 are folded over to hold the garment tail 19 between the two strips 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP> and thus holding the garment in tension without pins &c. Sleeves 14, 15 are folded on to the front of the garment held in position by being engaged in a flat tubular element 13. Cuts 17 make the blank more flexible but allow it to maintain the folded shirt in tension. In various embodiments (Figs. 1, 8-10), some or all of the flaps 2, 3, 4 may be integrally formed with the blank 1 or may be formed from a separate blank attached, e.g. glued or stapled to the blank.
