Abstract

1,179,160. Flexible building brick. A. FISCHER. 13 Oct., 1967 [15 Oct., 1966], No. 46809/67. Heading A6S. A building brick comprises two end portions and an intermediate portion, each of said end portions having a projection or recess for interlocking engagement with a corresponding recess or projection of other building bricks, the intermediate portion being so constructed as to enable flexing, of the brick concertina fashion. The intermediate portion may comprise a plurality of segments 2 of the same transverse outline as the end portions, preferably rectangular, linked by resilient portions 3 which at their narrowest cross section are circular. Alternatively the intermediate portion comprises segments of arcuate shape 2, Fig. 2, linked at 3 to form a corrugated cylinder. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, the segments 2 are in the form of conical plate washers resiliently interconnected as at 3. The segments shown in Fig. 1 may be supplied with projections and/or recesses, for connecting them to other building bricks.
