Abstract
1,177,174. Suppressing interference. VEREINIGTE DRAHT-und KABELWERKE A.G. 16 March, 1967 [16 March, 1966], No.12350/67. Heading H4R. In an arrangement for suppressing longitudinal currents induced by adjacent power lines in a telecommunication cable with a conductive sheath or with a metallic conductor which does not envelop the cable, by increasing the magnetic coupling between the conductive element and the telecommunication conductors by associating at least at one point, one or two turns with a magnetic core, the continuity of the conductive element is broken at 2 and a winding 7 or a winding W 2 of a matching transformer is connected across the break and inductively coupled with the core. Supplementary capacitors may be added for, for example, the purpose of tuning.
