Abstract

1,175,582. Opening containers; sealing packages. W. REINERY. 30 Jan., 1967 [29 Jan., 1966], No. 4485/67. Headings B8C and B8D A container for drinks has a cover 2 welded to its upper end, and a recess 4 in the cover having an aperture for a drinking tube 6 is closed at its top 7 by a closure (not shown). The container is formed of a thin foil material. In a modification a foil cover (8), Fig. 3 (not shown), extends over the whole area of the cover 2; or a tear-off flap (10), Fig. 5 (not shown), covering the recess 4 may extend partially over a second recess (9) in the cover 2. Again, Fig. 6 (not shown), the covers 2 and (8) may be shaped to fit over a beaded rim (3) on the container.
