Abstract
1,174,547. Scraper conveyers. MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI A. BEIEN. 4 March, 1968 [4 March, 1967; 14 Aug., 1967], No. 10496/68. Heading B8A. Trough sections of a scraper-chain conveyer have side walls 2, 2a inclined at an angle of about 45 degrees, the wall 2 constituting a ramp up which mineral can be pushed by a getting machine 5. The body 5a of the machine carries a plate 8 which extends beneath the troughing and which is attached to the lower run of a pulling chain 9. In Fig. 5, the troughing side walls are of sheet metal and are secured to a trough bottom 13 comprising two plates. In Fig. 6 (not shown), the side walls consist of rolled steel sections, while in Fig. 7 (not shown), the walls are made of rolled sections attached to plate like members (21). In this embodiment the bottom (13) is a single plate. To ensure that the runs of the conveyer chains lie in a vertical plane for engagement with a return sheave 25 and a pulling sheave, Fig. 2, deflecting sections 26 are provided (also Figs. 10-13, not shown). The trough sections are flexibly connected together.
