Abstract

1,172,208. Suitcase handles. PRESTO LOCK CO. Inc. 14 June, 1968 [11 Aug., 1967], No. 28367/68. Heading A4G. A U-shaped carrying handle A is pivoted between anchor members on pegs 30 on the members so as to move due to its asymmetry with the first axis, from a carrying position above the axis as shown in phantom lines to a rest position between the anchor members and below the axis as shown in full lines. The handle may be formed with a heavy metallic frame 14 embracing a softer gripping insert 10 e.g. of plastics, have the grip portion thicker than the part adjacent the pivot and the legs thickened at 12 towards the grin portion to increase the asymmetry. The U- shape may be replaced by a solid handle with pegs entering the anchor members.
