1,172,047. Liquid level indicator. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc. April 23, 1968, No.19249/68. Heading G1H. In a liquid level indicator, such as for use with storage batteries, a rod 28 of light transmitting material is held in position in a hollow cap 10 by engaging shoulders 48, 34, formed on the cap 10 and the rod 28, and an annular groove 36 formed near the upper end of the rod 28, engaging a flange 52 formed on a cover 26. Ventilation notches formed in the shoulders 48 or 34 are in alignment with baffle elements 70, 72 formed on the rod 28.
