Abstract
1,171,081. Variable resistors. PRECISION ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS Ltd. 22 March, 1968 [24 March, 1967], No. 13985/68. Heading H1S. A resistance 34 and a collector 28 located in a cover 33 are parallel to a leadscrew 19 which transports a contact 41 fixed on a housing 40 enclosing a resilient member having portions 44, 47 engaging the leadscrew 19. Arms 46 flex and disengage the member from the leadscrew 19 upon its rotation when the housing 40 abuts an end wall of the casing 14. The casing 14 is hermetically sealed, the cover 33 being fastened on a shoulder 32 by adhesive and a resilient member 37. An aperture 15 is sealed by an 0-ring 27 compressed on to a shoulder 17 by a metallic washer 28, compression being maintained by a retaining clip 29 fitting in a groove 22 in the leadscrew 19.
