Abstract

1,168,595. Shelving; joints. HANS-EBBE BERN NIELSEN. 20 June, 1968, No. 29508/68. Headings A4B and A4H. A shelving structure comprises a plurality of plate elements 1 each provided at the ends or along the whole length of their longitudinal edges with non-circular section tubes 2, the elements defining shelves, and walls and partitions, and includes connectors 3 each formed in two separate parts which together define two or more limbs 4 received in the tubes 2 of adjacent elements 1. As shown, each connector 3 comprises two similar parts of U-section. In modifications (Figs. 5-7), the abutting edges of the two connector parts are formed with interfitting teeth (11, 13 or 23). In another modification (Fig. 7) one part (14) of the connector is a flat plate formed with recesses (15) to receive teeth (16) on the other part (18). In a further modification (Fig. 2) the limbs of the connector (5) may have two branches (6) for engaging elements 1 disposed side by side.
