Abstract

1,167,889. Coated film. FOTOCHEMISCHE WERKE BERLIN VEB. 21 Dec., 1966, No. 57229/66. Heading B2E. [Also in Division G2] Film supports which are cellulose esters or thermoplastic resins polyethylene-terephthalate are rubbed by coating with a solution of a polyester containing epoxy by carboxylic acid groups which is a reaction product of a polyepoxide containing at least three epoxy groups per molecule with an acid component which is an aliphatic or aromatic/dicarboxylic or an anhydride thereof, said polyester containing not more than one epoxy or carboxylic acid group per repeating unit. Specified acids are maleic, succinic, itaconic and phthalic acid. Specified epoxides are triglycidyl cyanuric and isocyanuric acid. The polyester solution may also contain aromatic hydroxy compounds e.g. 2,2-di(4<SP>1</SP>-hydroxyphenyl) propape and p-chloro -m-cresol and halogenated aliphatic carboxylic acids.
