Abstract

116,633. Sauber, R. Oct. 13, 1917. Embossing.-For reproducing the grain of canvas and brush marks on printed pictures a plate is produced by ordinary processes having the canvas marking and also brush markings which are of coarse character except over certain areas of the plate, where they are finer or are absent. A plate of this kind is suitable for embossing a number of different pictures; for treating enlarged photographic portraits, for instance, the brush marks would be fine over the area corresponding to the head.
