Abstract
1,166,205. Mixing apparatus. A. J. LUSCOMBE. 21 Feb., 1968, No. 8419/68. Heading B1C. [Also in Division B8] A trailer vehicle for mixing animal feeding- stuffs has a generally rectangular, container with bottom, top and front mixing conveyers BC, TC and UC respectively, the bottom conveyer being driven at a slower rate than the other two. As shown they consist of endless chains as at 25 with widely spaced slots as at 25a. The apparatus is loaded through the runs of the top conveyer and is discharged by pivoting the upper part of the upright front conveyer UC about a shaft 22a into the position shown by broken lines, when it conveys material through a shoot 24 on to a transverse screw conveyer A. The front sprocket shaft 26a of the top conveyer has short screws (28 -Fig. 2, not shown) at each end to clear material from the container walls; the top conveyer may be replaced by three parallel endless chain or screw conveyers (see Figs. 5 and 6, not shown), the middle one being driven at greater speed or having greater pitch than the other two. The apparatus is driven by a power take-off P from the tractor, through chain gearing (see Figs. 1, 2, 4 and 7, not shown). The bottom conveyer may be reversible to load and discharge material to be mixed, or packaged goods for transportation, through the hinged tail-gate 15.
