Abstract
1,165,743. Counting-apparatus. WAYNE TANK & PUMP CO. Ltd. 10 March, 1967 [11 March, 1966], No. 10902/66. Heading G4D. In a liquid fuel dispenser the quantity and price drums continue to register the previous dispensing operation until the operator rotates shaft 1 and therefore link 9 counter-clockwise. Links 4, 5 are thereby moved against the pull of spring 8, but because of slots 4a, 5a without any effect on shafts 2, 3 until shaft 1 has turned through 70 degrees. At this point shaft 2 is rocked to trip a pawl, so releasing a spring which rocks shaft 3 counter-clockwise. This drives the registers to zero condition in known manner and closes the pump motor switch. When dispensing is complete the shaft 1 is restored manually, pulling first on shaft 3 so as to cock the zeroizing spring, and then pulling on shaft 2 to re-engage the tripping pawl.
