Abstract

1,164,015. Fodder wafering. F. FENDT and X. FENDT. 6 March, 1967 [7 March, 1966], No. 10403/67. Heading A2B. An apparatus for wafering fodder such as hay or straw comprises a device for feeding the fodder to lap forming means consisting of a pair of coaxial oppositely rotatable drums which define between them a lap-forming chamber into which a plurality of rotatable mandrels extend, the lap extruded from the chamber being cut into wafers by a cutting device. Fig. 1 is a vertical section through a suitable construction, the lap forming chamber 24 being defined by the drums 10' and 10<SP>11</SP>, with rotating mandrels 9 extending therein. Fodder is introduced via 5, and the extruded lap, cut into wafers by knife 29, is swept by arm 33 to conveyor 8.
