1,163,447. Toothed gearing. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 21 Oct., 1966 [22 Oct., 1965], No. 47239/66. Heading F2Q. [Also in Divisions H1 and H3] Two shafts are alternatively driven from the same control knob 21 in a radio receiver tuning system (see Division H3) by means of two gears 14, 17 engaged alternately by axial movement of the driving shaft 15 between three possible positions set by a ball 20 engaging recesses 19. When the knob is pressed in, the gear 14 engages one of a number of gears 13 on spindles 3 carried in a rotatable mount. When the knob is pulled out, a pin 16 engages a recess in the bevel gear 17 so that rotation of the knob rotates the whole mount via bevel gear 18. This brings a different gear 13 into position for engagement with the gear 14. In the intermediate position of the shaft 15 the knob is inoperative.
