Abstract
1,162,496. Burners. A. H. GREAVES. 6 July, 1967 [6 April, 1966], No. 15230/66. Heading F4T. A burner for such fuels as methane, propane, butane as well as town gas has a sealed circularsection hollow body 1 with an inlet 2 and an upper wall 5 of frusto-conical form penetrated by pairs of radial rows of burner ports 6 each having a raised lip and the ports increasing in size from the inner to the outer end of each row, and the central region of the wall 5 is flat and imperforate and the burner ports adjacent to this region are so close together that a flame can be transferred from one to another around the periphery of region 7. Between the ports 6 are smaller stabilizer ports 8 and below all ports is a wire gauze 9 retained by a deflector plate 10 having perforations 11 corresponding to ports 6 but solid below ports 8.
