[Also in Division C4] In a lithographic printing process an ink is used which obviates the use of a separate water or fountain solution and which consists of a suspension of a greasy lithographic printing ink in a hydrophilic phase having a shear-dependent viscosity of at least 6 poises at low rates and less than 6 poises at high shear rates (see Division C4).
