Abstract

1,161,846. Pressure vessel. KOPPERS CO., Inc. 28 July, 1967, No. 34939/67. Heading B1X. A pressure vessel comprises corrugated metallic inner wall 13, compressible resilient filler substance 31 filling the troughs on the outer surface of the corrugations and outer wall 15 comprising filaments coated with a resin binder substance and wound around the inner wall adjacent to the crests of the corrugations and to the filler substance. The inner wall may be of aluminium, aluminium alloy, copper, copper alloy, steel. The filler substance may be an. epoxy resin composition or synthetic rubber. The filaments are preferably glass fibres; metal is mentioned. They may be treated with a binder resin which is an epoxide, polyester e.g. alkyd, acrylic, or phenolformaldehyde, furbural-formaldehyde or resorcinol-formaldehyde resin.
