Abstract

1,161,650. Hay balers. GEBRUDER WELGER. 23 July, 1968 [24 Aug., 1967], No. 35177/68. Heading B5F' A pick-up baler for hay &c. comprises a ram 12 guided by rollers 13 running on rails 6, 7, 8 arranged in three longitudinal corners of a baling chamber 1, the running surfaces of the rollers 13 being directed outwardly so that their axes of rotation form an angle of about 45 degrees with the longitudinal sides of the ram. As shown, the rails are circular in section and of slightly smaller radius than the grooved surfaces of the rollers 13. The front face of the ram 12 carries a knife 14 and adjustable stripper plates 17 encircling half of the guide rails. The rails 6, 7, 8 are adjustable horizontally and vertically by adjusting elements 9 comprising screws (10, 11) Fig. 3 (not shown).
