Abstract

A hair-cutting appliance comprises a structure 1 having a blade 11 with a cutting edge and a supporting bar 18 having teeth 19. The structure includes a plate having teeth 3 and a passage 4 in which is disposed a rod 5 which is bent at 6 and has a screwthreaded end 7 which passes through a slot 8 in the plate and on which is screwed a nut 10 to secure a blade holder 9 which has teeth 12. The other end of the rod 5 has a screwthreaded end 16 on which is screwed a nut 17, the arrangement being such that when the rod 5 is adjusted by means of the nut 17, the cutting edge of the blade 11 projects to a greater or smaller distance beyond the free end of the teeth 3. Thereafter, for cutting hair, the appliance is positioned so that the free ends of the teeth 3 and 19 rest against the user's head and the appliance is moved in the direction of the arrow shown in Fig. 2.
