Abstract
1,157,894. Electric couplings. PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN N.V. 21 July, 1966 [24 July, 1965], No. 32750/66. Heading H2E. [Also in Division D1] The lead 7 enters the handle 2 of an electric iron through a pivoted inlet piece 3. In one extreme position the wall 10 of the inlet piece acts as an extension to the back plate 9 of the iron and the wall 4 acts as an extension to the top 8 of the iron. In the other extreme position the wall 11 of the inlet piece rests on bevelled underside 12 of top 8 and wall 4 becomes the extension of the back plate 9. The side walls of the handle may extend alongside the inlet piece and provide slots to contain the pivotal stubs 18 of part 3 and the back plate 9, which may be detachable, has inwardly projecting lugs for retaining the stubs in the slots.
