Abstract

1,157,209. Fluid-pressure actuators. H. FINZER. July 24, 1967 [Aug. 9, 1966], No. 33857/67. Heading F1P. Varying and limiting of the rocking angle of a shaft 5, Fig. 2, connected by a pinion (4) and rack (3, Fig. 3, not shown), to a hydraulic or pneumatic actuated pistons 2a, 2b is effected by abutment of a stop lever 9 carried by a disc 7 coaxial with shaft 5 and angularly adjustable secured thereto against a fixed member 12, Fig. 1, on the shaft bearing flange 11. The disc 7 has teeth meshing with shaft teeth 6 of pitch corresponding to a 10 degree rotation of the shaft, and a fine thread screw 10 at the point of abutment of lever 9 against member 12 provides fine adjustment. In operation pressure fluid is supplied to the cylinder space above piston 2a and just prior to completion of the predetermined stroke an adjustable cam 17 carried by disc 7 depresses a lever 16 to operate a choke valve 13 in the supply line thereby damping the end portion of the stroke. The pistons and hence shaft 5 are returned to the initial starting position by admission of pressure fluid to the cylinder space beneath piston 2 b and the end of the return stroke is cushioned by a projection 20 on piston 2a.
