Abstract
1,155,522. Latch fastenings. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 11 July, 1966 [14 July, 1965], No. 31044/66. Heading. E2A. An electrical domestic appliance has a twopart housing comprising a main part 1 and a cap 2 which are detachable from one another, and means 12 for driving a movable element of the appliance, which means are attached to the inner side of the cap, wherein the two parts of the housing, when fitted together, abut one another at two edges formed one on each housing part and each extending in oneplane, and wherein means are provided for holding the two housing parts together, which means include a member 9 projecting from said edge of one housing part to engage in a socket 8 formed in said edge of the other housing part, and resilient means 4, whereby said member, when engaged in the socket, is pressed against a side wall of the socket so as to be held frictionally in the socket. As shown the. means 4 is a resilient lug which depends from the cap and engages an aperture 6 in the main part 1. The cap is also held to the part 1 by a screw or screws 10. An aperture 11 is provided in the part 1 through which an operating button of a switch. can project.
