The subject-matter is that of the parent Specification 1,154,327, but the claims are directed to the maintenance of transmissible clutch torque at a proportion of maximum transmissible clutch torque for a predetermined interval after shift completion, such proportion being dependent on accelerator pedal position but independent of time lapse after completion of a gear change operation.
