Abstract

A composition for adding to concrete to protect steel reinforcements against corrosion consists of a water soluble chromate, dichromate, nitrate or nitrite together with an aromatic or heterocyclic amine which can be present in the form of a cation. Alkali metal salts are specified together with quinoline, aniline, di N methyl aniline, pyridine and nicotine. The reinforcements can be pre-stressed.
