Abstract
1,152,371. Valves. BOCHUMER EISENHœTTE HEINTZMANN & CO. 3 June, 1966 [5 July, 1965], No. 24813/66. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F4] A valve member 4 for the ventilating shaft of a blast shelter is carried by a piston 7 in a cylinder 6, the piston being raised to its valve open position by a second piston (13, Fig. 3, not shown). A rod carried by the piston 7 trips electrical contacts if the piston moves downwardly due to air leakage and the second piston is thereby actuated to raise the piston and valve to the fully open position. To prevent the valve being immediately reopened when closed by the effect of a blast, a time delay is included in the electrical control circuit. The member 4 in the form of a shallow dished cover-plate seats on a seal 3a.
