Abstract

1,151,785. Making fasteners. SOC. ITALIANA TELECOMUNICAZIONI SIEMENS S.p.A. 11 May, 1966 [29 Jan., 1966], No. 58163/68. Divided out of 1,151,784. Heading B3A. [Also in Divisions E2, H2 and H4] In a telephone handset such as described in Specification 1,151,784 the microphone and receiver transducers are each retained by a stamped sheet metal piece which also provides electrical connection. The microphone capsule 70 (Fig. 1) is retained by a metal strap 102 comprising two parts 108, 109 (Fig. 2) held together mechanically and insulated electrically by two opposite plastics insulators 110. The strap is stamped in two successive stages and after the first stage the parts 108, 109 are held together by two residual pieces 112. The insulators 110 are connected together through holes 117 in the parts 108, 109, which are thereby clamped together. The residual pieces 112 are then removed. Two terminals 114, 115 are for connecting wires. Opposite tongues contact the capsule electrically. Terminations 118 bend over and fit into grooves in a circular ridge 122 on the base-plate 28. The receiver capsule 82 (Fig. 4) is retained by two metal parts 124, 125 (Fig. 5) electrically insulated from one another. Parts 124, 125 are stamped out in two stages and after the first stage are held together by residual pieces 128. Two opposite plastics insulators 130 (Fig. 6) are applied and connected together through holes in parts 124, 125. Pieces 128 are then removed. Electrical contact with the receiver 82 is ensured by spring contacts 132. Terminals 136 serve for connection with conductors.
