Abstract

1,151,626. Automatic circuit-breakers. BROOKHIRST IGRANIC Ltd. 11 Oct., 1967 [13 Oct., 1966], No. 46461/67. Heading H1N. A push-button actuated automatic circuit breaker has the actuator rod 10a, Fig. 2, latched by a pair of levers 20, 22 pivoted on opposite sides of the rod and biased by springs 21, 33 to engage groove 10f on the rod when button 10 is de - pressed. The latch may be manually disengaged by rotation of the button 10 whereby pin 10d on the rod engages depending arms 20e, 22g of the levers 20, 22 to disengage them from the groove 10# which is bevelled to facilitate release. Electromagnetic release is provided by armature 36 carrying a nylon bridge 38 having projections 38b engaging the ends of arms 20e, 22e which extend around the rod 10a. The casing 4 is cylindrical for insertion through a hole in a panel 2 and is held by threaded nut 8. The rod 10a is sealed by a gland 14 which is clamped against a wall 4b by the push-button return spring 12. One or more switch contact blocks with actuators are secured below the electromagnet assembly 34.
