Abstract
1,150,788. Resilient wheels. T. L. FAWICK. 2 Oct., 1967, No. 44761/67. Heading B7C. A wheel having a hub 10 and rim 11 comprises a member 24 detachably secured to the hub and a rim-support member 23 fixed to the rim, the two members presenting axially-spaced parts faces on one axial side of the rim with the space therebetween being filled with rubber-like material bonded to the faces and projecting radially outward beyond the rim. In a twinwheel, as shown, member 24 is symmetricallydisposed between rims 11, 11a, and the sandwich 29, 25, 24, 25a, 29a extends from a position radially-inwards of the rims to a position radially-outwards thereof. Brake-drum 16 is secured to the hub by bolts 17 which also secure member 24.
