Abstract

A trailer for laying gravel or other material in a drainage trench comprises a hopper 4 discharging by gravity on to an endless conveyer 8 drivable in either direction for discharge through one of the shoots 17 pivoted at 18 for movement from an operative to an inoperative position. The conveyer may be driven from the power take-off of a tractor through a gear-box 10 controlled by a lever 16. The shoots may be raised and lowered manually or by power from the gear-box 10, lowering of the appropriate shoot occurring dependent on the direction of the conveyer drive. Two parallel conveyers may be provided each with a shoot to discharge simultaneously in both directions from a single or double hopper. The vehicle may be self propelled and may have tracks in place of wheels.
