Abstract

1,149,811. Load-handling pallets. E. C. CASES Ltd. 14 March, 1968 [17 March, 1967], No. 12610/67. Heading B8H. A pallet which can present a platform of different areas comprises two relatively movable interengaging frame units. Each unit, Fig. 1, comprises three upper bearer members 10, 11, 12 secured on and above three parallel transverse support members 13, 14, 15. Below each bearer member is a base member 16, 17, 18 secured to and spaced from the support members by nine blocks 20. The complete pallet is formed by interengaging, during manufacture, two identical frame units, one of which is oriented through 180 degrees, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown). Fig. 4 shows the collapsed position and Fig. 5 a partly extended position wherein the first frame unit has been moved in two orthogonal directions X, Y relative to the second frame unit. More than two separate frame units may be employed and they may interengage in various ways (not shown). Means (not shown) may be provided for holding the two frame units in a desired position of mutual adjustment. A platform (not shown) may be attached to the pallet; different platforms may be employed in order to fit the pallet as adjusted for size.
