[Also in Division H2] A heating and ventillating installation, for example, for a car, comprises a heat exchanger, a fan 3 and a direct current motor 2, the speed of which is regulated by one or more series resistors 4 and 5 each in the thermal proximity of a temperature dependent shortcircuiting element, 12 and 13 respectively, mounted in the cold air current of the fan. The entire unit, with the exception of power connections from the car electrical system and control cables, may be housed in a plastics casing. An alternative embodiment uses a variable series resistor connected in parallel with one of a number of pre-set thermostatic shorting elements.
