Abstract

1,148,713. Auger mining heads. SALEM TOOL CO. 27 April, 1966 [22 Dec., 1965], No. 18433/66. Heading E1F. To facilitate breaking up of a core of mineral entering a mining machine boring head there extends radially and rearwardly from a pilot bit 20 a cutter arm 21 that leads to a scroll conveyer 3 rigidly secured with, to extend rearwardly through a tubular casing 1, the leading end of which forms a kerfinig rim 8 in respect of which the outer end of the arm is axially inwardly spaced therefrom.
