Abstract

114,862. Feeny, V. F., (Oldfield, L. IV.). March 3, 1917. Valves; valve-gear.-In a two-stroke-cycle engine having rotating radial cylinders of two diameters, four exhaust valves carried in a common frame are mounted in the head of each cylinder, the frame being engaged by a stationary cam track, (not shown), as the cylinders rotate. Combustible mixture is admitted to the crank casing and enters the annular pump spaces 8 at the ends of the outstrokes through ports 6 adjacent the heads of the pistons, and also through terminal ports 12 which may be dispensed with. The working cylinders and pump spaces are crossconnected and the transfer passages 10 lead to terminal inlet ports, such as 11.
