Abstract

1,148,274. Pump and pressurized liquid and spray dispensers. AEROSOL INVENTIONS & DEVELOPMENT S. A. Jan. 11, 1968 [March 15, 1967; April 20, 1967], No.1595/68. Headings F1A and F1R. An actuator cap for a pump type or pressurized dispenser 1, Fig. 3, comprises a button 4 axially and rotatably movable in a tubular body 3 adapted to be mounted on the body of the dispenser 1, the button 4 having a boss 13 engagable with the discharge member 2, and an outlet 10 which discharges through a notch (14) in the body 3. The button 4 has depending lugs (15) which in the position of the button shown may enter clearances 17 on the inside of the body 3 which permit reciprocation of the button. When the button is turned to an inoperative point ion the nozzle is closed by the upper portion of the body 3 and the lugs (15) by engagement with a shoulder 16 prevent axial movement of the button 4. The inoperative and operative positions of the button 4 are determined by the side edges of the lugs (15) which engage shoulders in the inside of the body 3. In a modification Fig. 11, a flange 24 on the boss 13 is forced through an aperture in a member 21 forming part of the body 3 during assembly, to prevent separation of the button and body.
