Abstract

1,147,564. Phenoxy-resin compositions. UNION CARBIDE CORP. 14 March, 1966 [16 April, 1965], No. 11094/66. Headings C3B and C3R. [Also in Division B2] Primer compositions of high early adhesion comprise (a) a thermoplastic polyhydroxyether (phenoxy resin) made by reacting substantially equimolar amounts of dihydric phenol and epihalohydrin, having a degree of polymerization of at least 30 and which is substantially free of 1,2-epoxy groups; (b) 5-250 parts by wt. of a phenol-aldehyde resole per 100 parts of (a); and (c) 25-300 parts by wt. of pigment per 100 parts of (a). The compositions may also contain solvents and fillers.
