Abstract
1,147,034. Blast furnaces. SALZGITTER HUTTENWERK A.G. 22 July, 1966 [29 April, 1966], No. 33114/66. Heading F4B. In a method of operating a blast furnace, coal fines from a hopper 1 are carried by air from line 10 to a gasifier 3 having an exit pipe 5 to a cyclone separator 6, from which coke fines are conveyed to the blast furnace hearth by gases by-passed through line 4. Gases from separator 6 may pass via branch pipe 7 to the furnace bosh or stack, via branch pipe 8 for other use, or via line 9 to join line 10.
