Abstract

1,146,836. Dynamometers. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Aug. 25, 1966 [Sept. 9, 1965], No.38511/65. Heading G1W. A torque measuring device comprises two parts 10 and 13 which are (a) mounted coaxially for relative angular movement by bearings 11,12 (b) splined at 15, 16 for connection one to a driving member and the other to a driven member (c) inter-connected by a spring 17 spirally coiled in a space between the parts 10, 13 and arranged to oppose their relative angular movement, and (d) carry the one an index mark (21) and the other graduations (20) to indicate relative angular movement due to torque between the driving and driven members. Zero adjustment and stroboscopic reading may be provided.
