Abstract
1,146,556. Superphosphoric acid; viscosity reduction. ARMOUR AGRICULTURAL CHEMICAL CO. 25 Jan., 1967, No. 3726/67. Heading C1A. The viscosity of wet process superphosphoric acid is reduced by simultaneous ageing and agitation of the acid for at least one day at temperatures above 150‹ F., preferably between 150-220‹ F. The process may be applied to the superphosphoric acid obtained by concentrating wet process orthophosphoric acid to 68-78% P 2 O 5 , if necessary after cooling to the ageing temperature.
