Abstract

1,144,439. Sugar coating solution. CIBA Ltd. 18 May, 1966 [25 May, 1965], No. 22090/66. Heading A2B. A coating solution, suitable for coating confectionery and medicinal products, comprises an aqueous sugar solution containing additionally at least 1 wt. per cent. of a hexanehexol, at least 0.01 wt. per cent. of a water-soluble salt of a higher alkyl sulphosuccinate, i.e. an alkyl group containing at least 6 carbon atoms, and at least 0.01 wt. per cent. of a linear poly-1, 3-#-glucoside containing on every third glucose moiety of the chain a 1, 6-#- glucoside group. The sugar may be sucrose. Opacifiers, such as titanium dioxide, and dyes, such as insoluble lakes, may also be present.
